i've been creating many images using overlapping colors...i'm always amazed at the beautiful combinations.

i'm thinking of creating a series based on this color and technique...maybe a reindeer, a cardinal and a frosty winter scene...
nate and i collaborated with another brother/sister team to create these great tote bags. they are selling on the awesome "a-thread" site where a part of every purchase goes to either a charity of your choice or in this case, the world food bank. we couldn't be happier with how they turned out...the construction and print quality are FAB! here is the link to view them along with the MANY other cool things they sell! how fun to buy all of the ingredients needed to make these recipes and gift it to a friend!

the story behind this little slice is indicative of how i work. i decided it was very very very necessary to clean my studio before starting any more projects. 10 minutes into shuffling through piles i discover a tiny little sketch i had done one morning while looking at holiday magazines (probably weeks ago). well what the heck, i just had to take a quick little break and get the design started so i could FINALLY throw the piece of paper away. mind you, i have stacks a mile high of sketches...everywhere! in the middle of creating this slice i started feeling guilty that i hadn't scrubbed bathrooms in awhile. so after 2 gross hours of cleaning the boys bathroom i come back to my cozy + cluttered space and relax back into finishing this design. so essentially it took me 5 hours to throw away ONE piece of paper!!!!!!! ha!
over the weekend i painted this little teardrop ornament for a school fundraiser...it reminded me how difficult it is painting such tiny things!!
